The 2020’s at Sportsman’s Palette
For some, the start of a new decade signifies the chance for a new beginning, new growth, and even new success. At Sportsman’s Palette, the start of the 2020’s ushers in a renaissance of sorts for the brand – from the launch of our new website late last year, to some exciting new prospects in terms of special projects. Over the past few months, we have undertaken the exciting new task of documenting the production and evolution of the largest ever Sporting Flats Painting by a contemporary artist – of which we are aware – available to the market. The painting, created by none other than English artist Keith Cardnell, is also the largest Sporting Art canvas the artist has ever created. This documentation project marks the first time we have offered an ‘inside look’ at the creation of a work of this magnitude from start to finish. Over the span of the next seven weeks, we will be releasing this documentation, stage by stage, on the site’s brand new blog section. The documentation of the work, which consists of the artist’s very own words accompanied by commentary by us, will be archived on its own new site page, found here.
The timing of this grand release is certainly opportune, as the piece’s magnitude not only sets the stage for the decade to come, but the subject matter is as timely as ever – with the start of flats fishing season nigh, many anglers will find themselves heading south in search of their own ‘silver.’ Our hope is that this documentation will inspire not only the flats anglers in our audience, but also the art enthusiasts and collectors. We hope it will be seen as an opportunity to perhaps discover a new genre or new artist, and most importantly, we hope everyone is as excited to join us on this journey as we are to share it. Check back in a few days for the project’s release.
