We’re told that the sporting partnership between humans and dogs developed thousands of years ago, and stemmed from a deep bond of affection.
Over the years, humans clearly felt this connection to be strong and significant enough to not only welcome dogs into our homes as domestic pets, but also to include their likenesses in our art.
Now, dogs hold the much-deserved title as (sports)man’s best friend. We rely on them for companionship and comfort, and reward them with a driving purpose in life and a warm place to sleep at night. They, in turn, reward us with their unwavering love & affection.
Humans are extremely lucky to have dogs, and for us at Sportsman’s Palette & Fisher Stillman, there isn’t a day that goes by where we don’t think fondly of all the dogs we’ve had the pleasure of having in our lives. We like to think our artists feel the same way, and we’ve curated a small collection of works featuring our four-legged best friends as a way to say “thank you for always being there for us.”
